The FastStone Image Viewer is a fast, user-friendly image browser that supports all major graphic formats. It’s also got good basic image editing facilities, a great slide show and a very good looking interface.

I now use this as my default image viewer, as it will bring up any image full screen with just one click, then you just press space-bar to view the next picture. I’m finding it really useful for browsing images, and quickly deleting the ones I don’t want using the keyboard Delete button.
