Computer tutorials based on pictures. Free!

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

in_pictures.gifIn Pictures is one of the best computer tutorial web sites I have yet come across. The tutorials are based on screenshots not words, which are very clearly laid out, and easy to follow. It’s a great way to learn about computer subjects such as Microsoft Office, Open Office, Web Layout, Web Graphics and Web Programming.

Best free Time Management tools

Monday, February 4th, 2008

This week I’m covering online Time Management tools, all based around creating to-do lists. My Top three utilities range from the extremely simple to more complex …

TodoPub

todopub.gif TodoPub is an extremely easy-to-use site. Just add each task, prioritize and save. When each task is done, just tick the box and it’s struck out, but still visible.

Remember The Milk

remember_the_milk.gifRemember The Milk manages a set of task lists for you, which you can group by location, priority and due date. This makes it compatible with the famous Getting Things Done system as preached by David Allen at www.davidco.com.

You can quickly see which tasks are overdue, how they rank in importance, and if any need to be achieved at particular locations. A nice feature is the ability to email items to your list so you don’t have to log in every time you want to add an entry.

Simple.ology

simpleology.gifSimple.ology is not so much a Time Management system, more a way of life, designed to free up more time in your life. Simple.ology promises to let you see your day with instant clarity, focus instantly on what´s important, dump the rest and clear your brain of clutter and distraction.

The system combines short videos, workbooks and reading materials, to be used for a short time each day. Each day, you will “learn the steps to achieving your dreams.” The recently added “Desktop Cockpit” software makes it even more user friendly (and fun!)
