Intelligent social networking ~ Twine

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

A new social networking site called Twine is the brainchild of technology guru Nova Spivak. It looks like a cross between Facebook and Wikipedia, but its engine room is powered by “semantic understanding”, where the website actively learns about you and your interests. The technology gets to know you, learns what you love & what you hate, then suggests new info, twines and contacts through personalized recommendations.

WiseCat on Twitter

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Twitter.comI’ve recently rediscovered the social networking site Twitter, and I’m now totally addicted.

It seems a lot of people have still not heard of Twitter, so just to explain, it’s a micro-blogging network where each post is only allowed a limited number of words. So each post needs to be short, sweet and to the point.

It’s ideal for updating your friends on what you are doing at this present moment, sharing ideas and web links.

If you want to follow my thoughts, and what I am up to, then the brand-new, shiny WiseCat on Twitter is now online. It would be nice if you would sign up and add me as a follower.

Impressive new search engine ~ SearchMe

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Searchme search engine SearchMe.com is an exciting new visual search engine with a really cool interface that lets you see what you’re searching for.

As you start typing, categories appear that relate to your query. Choose a category, and you’ll see pictures of web pages that answer your search. The results are shown as screenshots of each site, which you can quickly flip through like a book. Clicking on a screenshot will take you to the site.

Searchme is different from other search engines like Google because it’s visual, playful and enjoyable. It’s also blazingly fast, which is impressive for a site which uses so many visuals.
