CERN Video ~ The Grid The Internet could soon be made obsolete, because scientists at CERN have developed a lightning-fast replacement to the web. Using fibre optic cables, the new system would be 10,000 times faster than a normal broadband connection.

The new network is capable of downloading entire feature films within seconds. “The grid” will be able to send the entire Rolling Stones back catalogue from Britain to Japan in less than two seconds. Take a look at their video of how “the Grid works”.
