Blip.fm rocks
I’ve just signed up for a new music service called Blip.fm. I love the way this site is put together. It’s a cross between a blog and your own personal radio station. With each short post, you attach some music for visitors to listen to.
You can make your own playlists, or listen to other users with similar tastes. I’m finding it so addictive, it’s hard to pull myself away from it. It’s even better than Last.fm, and that’s saying something.
Check out my own personal Blip radio station at blip.fm/WiseCat, and I hope you enjoy the music. If not, why not sign up yourself and share your kind of music with new friends at Blip.fm.
How it works
With Blip.fm you can become your own DJ, and create a station with access to millions of songs that you can share with your friends and other Blip users. You just need to create a DJ name, and enter your email address to get started.
Entering a few song or artist names and almost instantly Blip has found other DJs with the same musical taste. You can add those people as your favourites, so you’ll see what they are listening to on your Blip homepage. You can also invite your own friends to join you on Blip.
You can share music you love on Blip just by entering the title or artist and then clicking on Blip. Add a message to go along with the song, and your song will play. Now what you are listening to will show up on your friends home page and vice-versa. Just click through to hear your friends music.
It also allows you to add blips to other social networking sites such as Twitter and FriendFeed. If you’re a musician you can even add your own music to Blip.
You can add more and more music to your homepage to create your own playlist that everyone to enjoy. Why not give it a try, become a Blip.fm DJ and tell everyone what you are listening to.
