How to Find Great Free Programs
Alright. Whether you want to manage your taxes easier or create a decent looking website, a good program makes it much easier. Unfortunately, most good programs are very expensive. But not all of them. There are a good number of great free programs out there. This tutorial will tell you how to find them …
Steps
- Search engines are your best friend. Go to Google or AOL search and type in “free [insert type of program here]“. You might have to search the first 10 pages or so.
- Go to websites that offer not only one type of free programs, but many. That way you can always find what you are looking for. Some good websites are listed in ‘external links’
- Join forums and ask users what free programs they use. Most people have at least one free program installed in their computer
- If you want free programs that you would usually have to pay for, but don’t want to break the law, http://www.giveawayoftheday.com offers free downloads. No registration or anything required
- If you can’t find a free program to fit your needs, consider a very cheap one. Some sites allow you unlimited program downloads for one-time fees as low as 95 cents.
Warnings
- Be very careful about what you download. Some people intentionally hide viruses in the downloads.
- If you decide to go by that last step, be careful it’s not a scam
